Okay, so... I graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1996. The ELHS mascot was "Potter Pete." East Liverpool was once "pottery capital of the world," with over 100 businesses devoted to industry in some manner. While this is no longer the case, ELHS remains the only school system in America to have a "Potter" as its mascot - a mascot that is often depicted as a man with a blazing kiln for a head.

Right. So here in the summer of 2010, an All-Class Reunion will held held, a giant celebration dedicated to ANY and ALL graduates of a school that has existed since the early 1900's. Out of boredom, I designed this version of our classic mascot, imagining him more as a "Frakenstein's Monster" type of living stone creature. Yeah... way cooler than a tiger or a pirate.

Oh, drawn in pencil, inked with microns & sharpies, minimal colors with pantone markers, scanned and given adjusted hues & contrast, and a bunch of text added in.
